After living at 8905 Eagle Place Loop for four years, we spent the entire month of July and early August packing up and moving into a 10x15 foot storage unit.
The house didn't seem this empty when we bought it.
After the 8th rainiest July on record my vegetable and herb garden finally started growing. I unfortunately never got to sample the fruits of it. Hopefully my friends and neighbors will share in this cooperative and help themselves.
It is amazing how in tune animals become with their surroundings and sense change. Jack has been very stressed out lately, Jasper has been very depressed. On the 8th of August we packed the rest of our household goods into the truck and headed North to Fairbanks.
Some of this gear was mailed to Arctic Village, some was carried, some will be left for Gretchen's travels to the North Slope, and some will be left in the truck for travels elsewhere.

This is my first blog post from Arctic Village, AK.
